The boat trip last weekend didn't go quite as planned. One called in sick and two stopped by their car breaking down on there way left the boat bit short of crew.

So not to miss the good weather it turned into a family trip instead. Although we were running far too late to make the best of the tide I got as far as Rhoose and dropped anchor about an hour before LW.

It was my daughters very first fishing trip so we just wanted to catch something. The fish were obliging and after a string of about 7 dogs she also managed a 5Lb Thornback, a small conger and an amazing 14lbs Blonde Ray, all in a little over an hour.

She was obviously chuffed with her first fishing trip and can't stop talking about it.
