Went down portishead for a couple of hours after work last week and managed to take this cracking picture of a thorny I caught. For all you budding photographers out there the technique I used was to place the fish on a rock of exactly identical colour so as to render it almost invisible!? Caught on a flapper with rag to a size 2 hook intended for sole, also had a small codling and a strap. Next time I'm going to target the sole with a whole squid on a pulley pennel.

It's amazing how much fun 1 fishing really is.

At least I'm still in the same county I started off in, hate to have been moved to Wales.

Hay good fish mate! Channel seems to have dried up a bit over the last week, reports are a little low, but I think that might be because of the bad weather.
