been fishing in Dumfries and Galloway at a place called Carsluith
we were catching Flounders, dogfish, seabass and the odd eel now we
are catching nothing but the odd eel anyone got ant ideas were the
fish could be going to
River channels in south west scotland are notorious(!!!) for the fish bieng there one day and gone the next. I can only think that perhaps they swim a diffrent channel each tide chasing food, who knows bt all the easturies from wigtown/solway are the same.... Preety much the same everywhere.
Try some of the more out to sea headlands... very rare that theres not a dogfish or a million about.
Keep a watch on rain fall before you fish marks like Carsluith as when the river Cree or the Bladnoch have flood water in them in can push the fish further out into the main sea for a time, neap tides can stuff things up for a bit also. The best fishing there usually coincides with a good crab peel.
I've got loads of excuses for not catching.
