Has anyone tried both these rods? if so, how do they compare?

NOt a lot to compare mate

but the ccc3 has a better fishing tip, lighter and a thinner blank
and cheaper

i can vouch for the C3LD

not owned a CCC (which i am sure is a fine rod) but the original CM is a great all rounder - will cope with mixed ground - good fishing tip - casts well - bombproof! -

if i was going touring a series of new venues with little prior knowledge - the CM would be the one rod i'd deffo chuck in the car

i think the main difference is in the casting profile - CCC may have more through action and lessy tippy maybe? - (anyone tried one?) -

so i'm afraid we are at that terrible 'personal choice' place - which i hate too

I've got a CM Express and a C3LD.

The LD feels stiffer than the CME when pendulum casting.

Before I bought the C3LD, I thought the opposite would be true.

If I were you, I'd try before I buy.

Dont forget though,the c3 is 10" shorter than the CME,so that may be why it felt stiffer,although to be honest they both feel pretty similar to me.

the CM has a j curve and the triple c has a through action so they are very different rods. in my book the CM is the original and best:notworthy

funny that coz the two i own have a j curve 13'6"CARBON METALS do have a j curve i think you may be thinking of the express model mate:g:

C curves and J curves are not like black and white! No rod has a true C curve or tue J curve - all fall somewhere in between, just depends what your criteria is for pigeon holing them as either one!
