Its a great rod with an excellent tip, fine for clean ground and even fishing for flats, the power is there, however, if you need it, for bigger leads etc. Nice slim and light rod.

If you can get a Super Match MK1, this is even better for clean ground.

Hope this helps.

i have owned a TT match MK1 for a while now.

casts well, tip looks nice BUT the tip section weighs a ton so the rod feels out of balance even with a fathom 15 in the low position.

is this true for the other generation one tip tornado rods, too?!

Got Supermatch's and Sports, had the originals but favour the mk2's, better balanced, although i think the mk2 sport is stiffer than the original

the mk 1 sport is a great rod and my favourite to use. i use mine for most of my match fishing and for clean to mixed ground. its happy casting 4oz to 6oz all day.

ive used them for years in fact ive just had mine rebuilt.

Love mine and they are fine on clean ground - you can use a lighter rod but theyhave a good tip and are a rod that will handle a good range of weights and conditions. they do feel topheavy with reel down but as far as I,m concerned all long rods do .... I use reel in high position anyway so they feel very balanced with a 6500 or 5500 on.

Dont have that issue on my mark 1 ttsm.....casts beautifully and perfectly balanced with an Akios 656 strapped low down, cant fault the rod at all

My mate has the mk1 TTS all original whippings ect:

The rod feels very light paired with a 6500 chrome rocket i think it feels very soft in the tip section but with plenty of power stored in the butt section I would say it would be ideal for over clean to mixed ground and a bit of rough ground now and again but if I was fishing over rough ground I would go for a slightly more powerful rod

It's a cracking rod though and extremely slim and light for the age of the rod
