On 14th December 2013, Lowestoft (Cefas-Pakefield area) I will be holding a Charity fishing match called 'Fishing for Wishes' in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation, UK.

The match will be from 10am-3pm
1 ROD, 3 HOOKS max, No bait Restrictions, Catch & Release, Pre-booked, and pegs to be drawn on day. Also will have Prizes for Biggest Round/Flat

The cost of the Match is: FREE

The main winner will take home a brand new, Century Tip Tornado Low Diameter Rod and Century Rod bag worth rrp £350 as well as a large shiny trophy.

What's the catch? Well, its a Charity match and its in aid of making some cash for seriously sick children to grant them a wish for a day. This could be to meet Jenson Button or fly a plane, its giving them and there parents a day of smiles which they won't get too often. Who else grants childrens wishes...? Santa... :)

Yes, each angler who enters will be giving/sent an info pack with sponsorship forms and a free Santa outfit which is to be worn during the match, lol. (In case of bad weather we will allow clothing underneath and what ever is sensible to health and safety).
In the info pack there will be a sponsorship form which I ask you to gain donations for your efforts and our efforts from friends, family and workers. Can you imagine a beach full of Santa's fishing...? what a great sight it will be!

The match is registered with Make-A-Wish and we have plans in motion to hold a Lowestoft high-street collection on 30th Nov giving out cakes, pies, mulled wine (Non alcoholic), and other bits as well as flyers in rtn for donations.

There will be a fishing raffle with some great prizes, all will be welcom to buy tickets and postage to people can be sorted if they live away. Thus far we have 3 quality rods, a weeks holiday chalet in kessingland for four, 3 charter boat spaces, brand new Century clothing not yet out for sale and much more on offer.

Every penny raised goes to charity, all prizes have been donated.

All help is needed and support is very welcomed. My donation page is:

If you can help or want to take part please send me a message and i'll be in touch.

Many thanks

Phil

I can't guarantee I'll be free on the day, but closer to the date I'll let you know, if that's OK. How late would be too late, in terms of my confirming?

Still, if I am free, count me in! My brother will probably be up for it too  So sorry I can't be certain yet, but I'll do my best to add another two anglers to this fishy philanthropy.
Nice One, You can confirm right up until the week before the event fella, but each angler must get some sponsors from friends and family etc as that's how we are making the cash for charity. Free Santa suit, Free to enter, Top prizes just need to gather a few quid... :)

Thanks for all the interest so far guys. Quick Update: All who have expressed an interest should have been sent a message by now. Do let me know if you haven't. Slight delay in sending out the info packs for all those who have asked for one I've had a manic week but they will be there very soon.

Cheers

Right, final details:

Pegging in from 8.45-9:30am, match 10am-3am, (any help is gratefully received and i'll be on the beach around 7am).
The pegging in will be around the cefas area, please see pic/link below for a better idea. Anyone traveling for the first time the postcode is NR33 0HT (LOOK For CEFAS)
When you reach destination just look to the right and we should be at the dead end right at the bottom. On the day there will be some small signs put up to assist with this.

By now, everyone should have a Santa Suit of some sort either by me or Post. This weekend I've done around 400 miles dropping off Santa Suits around the coast and I'm chuffed that everyone I've met seems fully committed to having a good time and also keen to do there best for the cause. I've had to purchase 34 suits at personal cost to myself so please try to make what you have fit. My advice is to go with thermal base layers underneath as they are thin and very warm, but bring waterproofs in case. If anyone wants to purchase another suit your very welcome Amazon have some cheap and at a 1-2 day delivery time. I've done what I can for you guys, hope its Ok

Just crossing my fingers for good weather and a good day

Look forward to fishing with all my friends, new and old next weekend

Anyone know if this event will be on this year?
Hi Thanks for the post. The event will happen again but not in 2014 unfortunately. Keep your eyes open though and it will be bigger and better than before :D

PS - An update with the grand total will be done very soon, chasing sponsorship has taken longer than expected and there has been a little issue with gift aid etc.
