What a fantastic event this was.
BIG well done to all that took part and even bigger well done to all those who organised it.
The lady from the charity "make-a-wish" explained very clearly at the prize awards just how big a difference a "wish" is. A family that has a child that is very ill, perhaps terminally ill, is a family torn apart. One parent "holds the fort" back home with the other children while the other parent sticks at bedside. This continues till "the end", whatever that might tragically be. With the money raised from events like this, the care costs associated with bringing unwell children out of hospital (special transport, extra carers, etc) can be met. The family gets some relief from the burdens of illness, and most importantly, gets to spend time together as a whole family. Being able to create an amazing memory that will live on for one of these families in crisis, well it is just incredible.
This event has made this possible for at least one family, and the lady from the charity explained that we may have raised enough for more than one family.
