I got a 15lbs DAM rod, only cost me £18 form a place in swansea called tacklesmart. It has served me well for the last year. There is some good gear on tacklebargins.com

i hve a "shakespear in2" boat rod, cheap and cheerful, but does the job...its a bit thick and not much give, so doesn't have as much fun in it as my john wilson boat match rod with quiver tip!, but if its just for hauling fish in from a boat the in2 is fine.

Struggle into GAC at the bottom of Saracen Street and spend £20 on a RT Hardcore II 8ft or 9ft 20lb boat rod. Drop into the Chinese supermarket next door & get some frozen squid at a crazy low price for bait.

Awa Shima Ugly Battler 12-20lb £35 p&p Free.

I've had a play and I'm impressed, I also know the guy selling them and he's sound. We're each getting one for fishing from the SIB

Hi Sean,

I'm seriously considering a Shakespeare Salt Boat rod after many recommendations on this site. Tacklebargains.co.uk are selling the 12-15lb rod for £29.95. A great price.

I had a 12-15lb Salt arrive this week, and though I`ve yet to get it wet, it feels very good for the price on dry land.
