after a great night sunday which resulting in me christening both rods, decided to head out with a mate to have another crack moday night different spot not fished b4. it ididnt go well 3 lots of leader trace and weights either cracked off or snagged and snapped plus tons of weed decided enoughs enough on the final retrieve snagged again this time strippng the gears out of the leeda reel i had on and the end result was knackered reel plus the loss of all terminal tackle and a whole spool of line.

as you can imagine not happy so this morning after 2 days of brewing i sent an email to glasgow angling centre baying for blood ( the reel) is 6 weeks old and had 3 sessions.

got a response very quite very apologetic sending a better quality replacement out a gift voucher for the store and some goodies as a way of apology.

now waiting in anticipation should arrive friday will up date on what i get then.

How many times do we tales of woe similar to this, with budget tackle you really need to treat it with kid gloves,(here comes the toffee nosed bit)because of the demands we place on our tackle we tend to avoid the "budget" end of the market, even so we still look after it,by that I mean when having problems with weed we pump it in rather than just winch it in,even reels of the quality that we use would fail if they were used like a winch,I know pennies are short for most at the moment, but try to spend a little more on your kit and you will get more from it,even though you've had a result this time believe the next time you use that reel you will have niggling doubts about it

dont think i made it clear i was reeling in a clear line and it snagged gear striped in one turn, my gear gets looked after washed and greased after every trip, be it budget or quality.
as for the replacement i was a customer service manager in retail for years know consumer law inside out and know how to hit the right spots when complaining!
