Hi everyone, I'm keen on giving Chesil a crack (my first time) at some point in the coming months, probably in August or September. I want to target Rays, Gurnards, Hounds and Flatties (less interested in the Flatties), but I have no idea where to start.o_O Could anyone recommend to me which end of the beach I should try and what are the best conditions and tides for the above species? I am also lead to believe that there's a strong lateral tide run at the beach, so would I need grippers? Ahhh so many questions!

Cheers,
Brodie

Hi mate, there’s so many Chesil threads on the South Coast section, it’ll give you a fair idea, or do a search and you’ll be inundated.
Have a read through the Chesil threads on the first three pages, then post up any specific questions you have, would be my advice.

There’s some tide, but 5oz grippers is plenty enough down there, or a plain lead if you have the room and want to search around a bit with a moving lead for plaice.
