the rocks around church point are cod grounds, here and the becons just north of the caravan site are heavy kelpy ground. Go about a mile north and you have Lynemouth beach (next to the big chimney) this is a fairly steep sloping sand/shingle beach that can be fished with standard beach gear, Newbiggin itself also has a sandy beach. About 2 miles south is the river wansbeck which is good for flattie bashing.

There is a tackle shop too (cd) only about 100 yards from the caravan site on the main street.

If your fishing Newbiggin area ( rocks) take plenty rigs with you and lots and lots of Sinkers and always use a Rotton Bottom. Pulley Rigs are my Favorite for the the Rough ground marks around that area, as it is a Tackle Graveyard. Goodluck.
