Just a thought, as I have got my kids into foraging recently and we are due to go after some cockles, can they be used as a good bait? and if so what's the best way to use them?

Can't see why you can't use them as a hook tip off bait. Or as a cocktail bait. Try and let us know how you get on mate.

I used to use cockles at a beach mark when i was younger. Too young to really know what i was doing but I had loads of fish on them. Again, too young to know what they were.

meant to be a good plaice bait but ive caught on baits tipped with cockle and without so cant really say if they made a difference or not.

IT MUST BE AN ANGLESEY BAIT.i to always use cockle to tip my bait its aways improves my catch good for plaice ,flounder. codling . but by itself good for black bream
