hi all,

after long hard thinking i have decided to try and catch me a conger. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction towards the slippery suckers. I don't know any spots on the south coast between dorset and brighton, do you?

cheers big ears :)

hi speedy, the ledges of portland bill are meant to be good hunting ground.

I have also been advised in the past not to bother with fishing a rotten bottom rig...(coz its to 'ard) but just with a 10/0 hook on a wire trace and lob it out with half a macky on. and the weight of the bait hook etc will be enough to sink it to the rocks below you and hold on the rough ground below.

Also find a nice humid stormy night and keep all lights away from the water.....

enjoy.

Ditto Portland for Conger ;) have heard of some lunkers getting caught there

Never fished for them myself so as for tactics etc i wouldn't like to say but get a landranger map and explore some amazing fishing around Portland
