thinking of maybe going to copes hole, roa island. does anyone know where exactly it is and what baits, times, tides, is it likely to be snaggy as it is quite rough ground????

go down onto roa island. to the right of the life- boat station there is a row of cottages. just to the right of the cottages is a launch ramp, if you stand on the mussel beds with your back to the ramp, copes-hole is in front of you.
this is best fished towards bottom of the tide for a couple of hours, then fished up for a while. -- better fished on smaller tides due to rapid flow in the channel.
best bait this time of year is crab, worm baits will be stripped by crabs in seconds.
there is a small cafe on your left just before the lifeboat station, and a small ferry will take you to and fro to peil island for a small charge
