Went out on Monday with luggy and my dog accompanying me on board the Merlin. First stop was at the Swig buoy for mackerel sea was a bit lumpy with the East wind and only one mackerel came to the feathers despite loads showing on the sounder. We had brought plenty of bait so off we headed for the Kenfig patches catching the last of the flood, as soon as we got there we were into the usual dogs followed by hounds and then something i have never seen in my 52 years of fishing Luggy hooked into something big when it surfaced off the back we could see that he had hooked a strap of about 3 to 4lbs which was then devoured by a bigger eel of 20lb + neither of us were fussed on getting it into the boat so I knoked iit off the small eel which you can see in the pics has bite marks but went back a very relieved eel! moved up to another mark for the ebb and had plenty of smalleyeds and one bass of 5lb for me. All fish returned except for the bass which is waiting for the barbeque! Great company with Luggy again and looking forward to the next trip. John
