Dear South West Folk

Just booked a week with family down near Widemouth Bay

Would be great if anyone could tell me how it's fishing or where to fish - will only be able to grab the odd hour but a couple of rock marks for pollack and wrasse or beach for a bass (too early?) would be great.

Sorry bud, ironic thing is Ive just moved near there myself.

I can remember walking around near Crackington Haven and not liking the fact the rocks slope towards the sea, esay for a wave to wash you off and difficult to cast as well.

Theres a tackle shop in Bude you could try for some info.

If all else fails pick somewhere safe and try spinning for bass early morning, late evening, changing of the light time.

hi mate ive often fished widemouth beach,and the secluded beach of milook,im from the south coast,and my brother lives there so I normaly visit him once a year.thers a few places to fish there but ive not been able to fish from a rock platform as they are broken and of the jagged type.
the fish ive had from widemouth are bass,and gurnard not big fish but welcome all the same the bait I used for these was sandeel,and squid.
milook is a nice place to fish but be prepared to loose some leads as the bottom is mainly rock gulys.milook is a good place to try spinning,and pluging as the water is quite deep at high water.come to think of it the locals often plug fish up these gulys,and they catch as well.
at widemouth fish low water up as this is a surf beach keep to the left of the bay as the right side is used by the surfers.hope this info helps.

Hi, sorry I just looked at your post I come down to North Cornwall on Saturday the 12th to c my inlows for a week and I know few places and if ur up for it send me a pm and I will give u some help and all I know in this area it was found by me spending a lot of time driving around the coast but I'm quite happy to help u if u want unlike some others.
