Got to the slip at Burnham marina for 7:30 right on low tide and it was low with 2ft of sludge at the bottom of the ramp, so waited till 8:30 to launch but nothing lost as we got the rods set up and everything else ready so we could start fishing once we got to our mark. We headed out of the marina and traveled out of the river crouch making our way to the middle deeps. Visibility was poor and the chop made it slightly uncomfortable to fish but the predicted forecast said the wind would ease off. We fished for about an hour before landing some small tope around the 3lb mark and several LSDs but nothing else so decided to move nearer the banks again we caught several small tope and smoothies and just as the high tide peaked we hit some more decent smoothies ranging from 7 to 10lbs. Baits used were whole squid and mackerel. All fish release to fight another day.
