can some please explain to me how you set up the end caps? do you tighten up both sides really tight and just loosen one side until the spool moves a little bit or do you tighten up both sides and gradually loosen both sides a little? sounds like a stupid question now ive wrote it out. :uhoh:

The end caps are to centralise the spool in the frame. They should be adjusted to do this and the movement of the spool should be feelable but not seeable i.e. very small

You will need the spool slightly over towards the handle side end plate or you can risk shredding your pinion gear on the retrieve.

if i reel in a huge clump of weed there is a sort of grinding noise, is that the pinion grinding? :thumbs:
