Yeah, I know what you mean...smaller fish I totally agree,..and also lifting the big ones without supporting their guts...etc....no need for it
.....but having once lost my grip on the lip/mouth of a feisty 7lber and ended up with the fish jumping around on the lure with the lure's loose treble stuck in my finger ('luckily' hitting bone before the barb full embedded)...I now carry a boga when fishing alone...just in case that big fish comes along..and I need to control it safely (for me) on the rocks..but no lifting for trophy shots.
Also I've noticed that a lot of the Japanese anglers quickly find a rock pool for the fish ....and on the boga, in a pool, they stay relatively still for unhooking, photo and release...so they're not thrashing around smashing their gills rakers and flanks on jagged rocks..and ripping their mouth on the lure cos it's taking longer to control/unhook em.

So maybe..in the end.. it's more about the angler than the piece of kit itself?

I will qualify my comment, it's not the Boga I object to, it was the overall lack of respect for the Bass, in particular the lack of support to the guts.
As for the outfit, yes, that's one Bad Ass look! I have a RBB vest which I love, but more traditional Simms waders. But he does look the part, despite not acting the part.
Be interesting to find out what it is.

Their wetweather /wading/ rockhopping gear is truly awesome in terms of quality and variety.. breathables , waist high, neoprene, boot foot wetsuits, wading jackets life vest/lure vests ..even ray guards..(leg protection to stop you getting hit by a stingray being played into the shallows !?!?)
