Have you used it fishing yet. I bet that after the first couple of times you use it you`ll be able to see for yourself wether it was a waste of money or not.Not being critical mate ,its just a lesson we all go thru when new to the sport. Decathlon
Just picked up a 10ft spinning rod and reel from Decathlon sports store for just £9.95. I'm new back into the sport but I thought this isn't bad for a tenner. Has anyone used the rod and reel I'm talking about? and if so have I just wasted a tenner or have I picked up a bargain.

The fish don't know how much you paid for it. Use it in the right place and you'll catch.
At a guess it's probably too flexy for doing fancy walking the dog, wibble the wizards sleeve, castrate the cat type stuff with soft/surface lures but then purists/expert types seem to blank just the same as us mere mortals.
If the fish are there then you can take them.
Only downside is I wouldn't expect it to last long. The cheap stuff i buy tends to corrode quickly so make sure you wash it off in the bath afterwards.

And always wash your rod in the bath after use, and clean your rings.
