Getting old, so carrying a heavy steel Fork is hard work (there's a shame!) Does anyone know of a lightweight fork (Aluminium alloy perhaps?) which won't collapse. It will also mean that the Tripod can stay at home when I have to dig/fish. A fork would also help the old balance over the rocks (I've thought of converting my mountain walking 'sticks' to be a rod rest. Don't scoff it'll come to you, mark my words!)

I've read the stuff about Bait Pumps and have been put off by the 'hard-work' aspect, i.e. it's just as hard as digging and the mud/gravel has to be the right consistency. Would be expensive to discover that they don't work where I dig.

Also has anyone used these 'rail' rod rests and would they fit the handle of a Fork?
