Fishing Dingle Bay
15th 22nd May

We flew from Stanstead on the 15th at 1446 arrived Kerry 1815, met by Seamus and driven to Pat’s B&B in Dingle, got there about 1920, dumped the bags and straight into the pub next door, Oh did I forget to mention the weather??, best forgotten really but if you must know it was south west force 6/7, and getting worse for the following three days. Who cares bring on the Guiness.
Wednesday 16th, 1000, onto the boat a 35 Freeward built like a brick you no what, weather force 7/8 south west, we’ll go and see what it’s like.

It was fine in the harbour, but as we entered the Bay this is what we got.

and it did not get any better

We crashed on in westerly direction for about 45 minutes then started our drift under the cliffs at Slea Head

Apparently we had quite a lot of Pollock but my time was spent inspecting the bottom of a bucket.

and I was ever so glad when the rest of the crew decided that enough was enough
