Hi All

Have not been on this forum or fishing for nearly a year due to new babies and other stuff - and i have missed everything fishing !!

Last year i received lots of help regarding to task of re-building an old conoflex but I have decided to sell the rod instead (soon to be listed on here).

I have however decided to try my hand at re-building an old DAM rod just as a winter project in my new cave.

I was told to use Bonda seal and my mrs kindly went and bought a can for me but the can is red and i have now seen a yellow can too ??

Whats the difference ?

Thanks people.

Haha end of the tin Ross, turns out I didn't clean it well enough and had to get the help of a drawer and grips to open it!!!!:clap2:

on topic, I've had a good look around locally in the past and never seen it in shops here apart from a chandlery, but not the right bondaseal

Red tin yellow tin all the same stuff. Was in yellow tins for ages from fibreglass suppliers like CFS, nowadays it`s red tins, the large gallon tins are still yellow.

As Stan and Fish n chips say. ... The right stuff .... the text and product details on the tin are exactly the same just the colour of the label has changed ... we had a spell of them swapping back and forth (yellow, red, yellow) so thought it pointless to change the pic. It's a funny coincidence that someone emailed me this exact question just the other day.
Coat away at the blank quite happily, tin I`m using just now 1/2 gallon is red you`re fine.

My tin matches the photo. Thanks for the ever helpful info Stan & all you other guys. My Mrs bought the tin from cfs as one of my birthday presents and to keep me busy in my new man cave. Cant wait to start and also try out my new rod turner that i have just put together.

I may need some help along the way with my project and will post some photos on a thread but im sure it will be no where near the quality of Stan M's rod rebuild thread !
