Weather looks as though it might be OK this weekend (Sat afternoon).
Thinking of going out but not too far in case it blows up, maybe drifting for flatties between the piers. (Brighton) Anyone been out recently and is it still reallty dirty out there? Prob a bit early for plaice but there may be some flounder/dab and if the gods are smiling a sole...

the weather can change a lot in a few days, little windows can be smashed, excuse the pun if the weather does play ball then why not. flatties have decent sight so even if its murky then they might still see the baits and beads, i would definatly use beads or spoons to help visiblity. i would give it a try

A few that I know of have tried,but without much success . The water is still a bit mucky and drifting in those conditions isn't ideal. You might be better off anchoring up in that same area and slowly bouncing a light lead back with a decent bit of black lug or rag so the plaice have time to sniff it out. I'm sure there are plenty of plaice out there,but a bait zooming along on the drift in the dirty water doesn't stand much chance unless it lands right on their nose.

A mate of mine out of Newhaven Came down Brighton way on Saturday drifting fairly close in west of the stink pipe. They had some nice plaice on board to 3 1/2 lb

Start Westward drift 50.46.542N - 0.04.330W 2.3 Miles from marina entrance bearing 147 deg SSE. Start Eastward drift 50.47.680N - 0.10.862W 3 miles from marina entrance bearing 255 deg WSW. Tight lines.

lazy mans moving bait method .

put the hook in , cast 40 or so yards to the side of the boat , just enough lead NOT to grip .

re-cast when the bait is downtide and you feel like a bit of light exercise .
