According to the reels paperwork its = weight is 8ozs, capacity is 100yds of 8lbs b/s line, gear ratio is 1:3.125 and is contained in a red cartboard box. Ive had it since year dot, cant remember where it came from , and its mint. Was clearing out the attic and found it.Box nor paperwork has country of origin nor makers name. Does any of you gents know anything about this reel?

Hi there Dux is an Australian brand as far as i could track the name.

http://www.reelwidow.com/reelmakers.htm

But i also found this:

1970 Fishing tackle division launched; rod, reel and cooler production commences. First range of reels is the DUX series.

This comes from the history of Shimano.

Tohn T, thanks for your post.Nicely surprised that it may well originate from a quality engineering manufacturer, as the reel is is a thing of beauty and does have a feeling of good pedigree. Will try to find a bit more about it, but I have spent a few hrs searching the net and got nowhere. Again, my thanks to you.
