I had my first go of one of these last night and I think it's a great bit of kit for Maddies, fits two large Maddie baits on a wessex rig perfectly, no problems with ejecting (see proviso below) or rig tangles, absolutely flies out and will put Maddies out further than I have ever achieved before, more discrete and sits flusher with the sea bed than the original Dvices.

The downsides I found were: you can't preload the Maddies into the capsule as they crawl tail first out of the flutes and that can lead to them sticking/breaking (only really applies if you're double patting) and I can't see what other baits apart from small King Rag baits and single crab/shellfish baits would fit in them. So they are a pretty specialised bit of kit imo that's worth having for the Maddies thing alone but would also be good for Hounding with a Bass type rod.

Just my opinion but it would be good to hear what other uses people have found for them.

I've used large rag baits in DV8s before and although they do crawl through the flutes, they still eject, but you have to be carefull as some of them can fly apart during the cast.

I might try some seeweed on the bottom of the DV8 or DV Mini and then some rag on top if I'm double patting DVices - might be work a go ?

Have to agree with you Andy. None of those sole last week would have been caught without DV8 and D-Breakouts being available. No matter what some matchmen will tell you, you cant power cast maddies even if you have dunked them in water first, without a casting capsule!!

The secret is not in the dipping but the spinning:thumbs:

I've been using a wishbone rig with a single worm up each side and another worm on each hook just lightly head hooked. It's been catching bass at range for me and I've already thought about the huge amount of maddies that I could cram in there. Unfortunately I left my last one attached to a mooring buoy the other day, so looks lime I'm gonna have to put my order in for some more.

Oh, just a quick mention, the tubes are brilliant and literally indestructible. :)
