Went and fished maryport this mornin. Was a bit wet an miserable wen I first arrived. Bait was black lug an fished low till high. Had a 3 bearded rockling a bull head a nice flounder and a crackin plaice. Missed a cpl of decent bites 2. So not a bad la sesh and the sun made a appearance eventually

I was on the beach this morning as well mate, further along towards Flimby. Failed on the beach, and broke my fork digging worms! Went onto the North pier(harbour wall) over high water, and caught five plaice, all sizeable, up to 36cm. One was so hungry it had swallowed both hooks of my two hook flapper rig!

So session stared badly, but ended well. Got out a canny day as well.

Can't complain at that mate.

Most plaice I've had in a session, was worth breaking my fork for! Interestingly, they preferred stinky frozen black to the few fresh worms I got.
