Couldnt decide between shoreham beach or east preston but in the end I end up at EP.
Fished 2 rods one with lug and one with crab.
1st cast with the lug rod had a schoolie of 28cm. But as i was taking the fish in I had something happen to me that ive never had happen before. There was lots of splashing behind the schoolie as it was coming in and then up popped this head, a head of a seal! Managed to get the schoolie to the shore a thought it would be safe but I was wrong. The seal came darting on to the pebbles following it to wherevi had it at my rod rest. It clocked me and dashed back to the water. It hanged around for a 30 secs yhen headed east and wasnt to be seen again.
2nd cast had a small plaice.
3rd double shot of schoolies and on my last cast another schoolie. Crab rod blanked.
A session I wont forget for a while.
Wish I had a go pro now to have had catch it on film.

The nasty bite is REALLY nasty. I rescued a seal a few years back (tangled up in someone's braid), and I wound up in a long correspondence with some local seal experts. It turns out that seals' mouths contain some bacteria that can cause gangrene. General antibiotics don't do the business; so you have to tell the doctors it was a seal bite, and make sure they look up the specific antibiotic that works. (I was not bitten myself -- the experts were just warning me for the future.)
