Anybody got more details of what was caught and if they fished outside or inside the harbour?

A couple of us are off to fish the Cobh boat festival on Sunday and looking at the whether we could well be spending some time fishing inside the Harbour.

Angus thanks for the reply.

What was the wind blowing to keep you in the harbour?

The forecast we can get at the moment is 20mph SSW for Monday & 20mph W for Tuesday then it looks like it might drop of a bit for the end of the week?

Thanks again

West wind is OK here, you will get out the western shore but it can be sloppy passing across Ringabella bay but as soon as you reach fish point you will have shelter.

SSW winds and worse still SE or S winds are bad news, NW - NE winds can be bad news in parts of the harbour itself but off the land outside.

20mph SSW is F5, expect it to be sloppy probably confined to the harbour in a small boat. Parts of the harbour will be sloppy too like the "quarry" and the "harbour rock"

Full results are available here - http://www.efsa-scotland.org/competitions/euro_champs.htm. Had an excellent week despite the odd duff day. Great fun with the conger. Thanks to Angus and all the other skippers, and the local organisers who made it all possible.

Pretty well Guinessed out after the week but will be back!
