was planning on going fishing at Elie lighthouse sometime in the next few days. just wanted to know how its been fishing the last few weeks and what are the best baits for fishing there at this time of year? is it just coalfish and the odd cod? any form of information would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Was there 2 weeks ago with my dad and we had 8 fish between us all on mackeral apart from one which was on macky & Sandeel.7 of them were good sized coaly and 1 was a flounder.
Was there today and managed 3 small coaly to baited feathers left to sit on the bottom and a flounder to mackeral & Squid.
As for rigs use anything up to a 3 hook rig with size 1-2/0 hooks for flounder and coaly and if theres a chance of a cod use bigger.
Most baits will catch at elie but I find mackeral and lugworms work best although squid was having afew takes today.
