Hi.On one of Dougies boats (White)today.Spurs+more Spurs,no other species caught.Fishing was good from 8.30am-1.00pm---then nothing,the first few hours all the Spurs where 6lbs-4lbs.The smaller ones came aboard later in the day 3lbs-6 inches.Will post pics tomorrow.

nice spurs theres chris but also very strange no other speices showed.

what bait/gear did you use to catch them and where did you fish?

was out on one of the boats at etive 2 weeks ago but only managed a few codling, mini species and some pollack

Hi.Hokias baited with squid,i used black ones.The bigger spurs seemed to like them:clap3:.We headed to the top of the loch,maybe 1hr+20mins to get there and just drifted about.Strange no other species where caught:giveup:.BEWARE-The weather turned bad at the top of the loch,made the journey back down:boat::boat:a bit scarey.The scales where forgot:yucky:,any estimates on the Spurs.Thought mine was about 6lbs and Daves 4 1/2-5lbs??

Nice spurs, don`t think your far out with your estimates, the 1st one looks quite plump, what sort of depth were you in?

We were out in Dougies red boat a couple of weeks ago and had loads of different species doggies, spurs, pouting, codling, pollack,whiting. Sometimes it's just your luck I guess. At least you were catching (and some nice spurries there :clap: )
Half an hour before we came in, I was unhooking a spurry when the tail whipped upand hit my wrist (it's like really coarse sandpaper) as I returned it my hand turned crimson. The spur had speared my wrist and it wouldnt stop bleeding. The plasters wouldn't stick on my cold damp hands. It went in quite deep and was throbbing for a couple of days.
Anyway, the point is, the gloves might look un cool but they can prevent a sore one.
