I'm sorry mate but isn't the whole point of these forums for anglers to let others know where is producing the goods?
As for boasting, wouldn't you if you caught some nice fish?

EXactly.so whats your problem!!!It's only fishing at the end of the day ,.
Perhaps mate your 26th post may be of some more constructive matter, as you seem to lack the experience of what this site is all about. I agree that some guys do like to have a little bragg up about thier fishing adventures, and fair play to them. Its up to each individual how they percieve the posts that they read but i fail to see how your concerns over the eastney spot are warranted and why you feel the need to slate others that use this site for information as well as mild mannered entertainment. Fishing is a hobby to some but you must also realise that some treat it as a sport. Please mate do not take this to heart as the majority of us on here are all friends and we do not wish to shell out hostility to other wsf members. Just remember before starting a new thread you need to think where this debate will end up going, i would like to say that any one who catches a fish how ever big or small all catch reports are welcome and most of all the story of the session you have is as equally important, This makes for good reading!I can't keep quiet any longer ! Whats all the fuss about a few plaice being caught at eastney ! It seems people are really getting themselves at it unnecessarily.
Last year there were some decent plaice caught along eastney , without the need to broadcast it to all and sundry..The only benefactors from this are the local trawlermen...
Some of contributors to this site need to take a reality check. It's only fishing at the end of the day , which is supposed to be a relaxing hobby, to be enjoyed .Not a permanent competition where you constantly feel the need to be boasting about your latest "stunning" fish.
Hey Krp. I think everyone knows where your coming from, and it would perhaps be one of your local marks. I am one that makes the trip to catch not a lot on a regular basis, so have seen how busy it has been this year. But as everyone says, Forums are exactly for swapping this information. And as for trawlers, I dont think its any great secret that Hayling bay fills with plaice in the early spring. They will be on them without needing to shadow the forums (although again you are right, and I know for a fact that commercials do keep an eye on these posts.) So, what do you do? If we arent swapping venues with one another, there's not a lot of reason to have these angling forums!I can't keep quiet any longer ! Whats all the fuss about a few plaice being caught at eastney ! It seems people are really getting themselves at it unnecessarily.

Two of us are heading down to the Perranporth / St.Agnes area for a week in mid march with sea fishing top priority, would really appreciate some advice on what we could expect to catch.... best state of tide to fish the local beaches and what bait to use? we are bringing plenty of ragworm with us and are hoping to buy some peeler on the way, we are aware the tides recede along way and there could be heavy surf so any harbour walls/rock marks would be useful ! thanks.
can anyone recomend a beach down brighton way
! two of us coming down sat eve 20 th, we've been told seaford can be ok whats the best state of tide for this beach ? thanks
Had a first bash at Selsey last night for the elusive south coast cod.Had plenty of fresh peeler and lug.Undaunted by the in yer face force 6 /7 southerly , spent 3 hours for 1 small bass 2 smoothounds..4-5 lbs. The bloke next to me had 7/8 dogfish , then the weed kicked in an hour after low water . This made it totally unfishable . Prior to that weed free. Surprised to see only 2 of us on the point...tho east beach looked busy .
Think what he's saying is that people lack discretion in their posts and fail to realise the implications of this. Think about it, you catch a good bag of fish from mark 'A' tell everyone where, how, what with and what colour keks you were wearing and before you know it you cant get on the mark because a dozen clueless hopefulls are filling it up with lost tackle due to inadequate tackle and knowledge rendering it near unfishable for future trips!!
Phewww....
Spot on mate, give a few weeks and we ll have the beach to ourselfs again. To be fair on krp the amount of attention the Eastney is getting is a bit disproportionate and if it were my local beach, and space was limited, then I'd be slightly miffed. What will probably happen is that the sheep like me will turn up, blank, and it will all quieten down again.
I knew I'd be swimming against the tide on this one. haven't got a problem with sharing info ..I've asked for it and given it in the past.
As for being jealous of Howie, good luck to the man , and without sounding patronising ,it's good to hear of someone returning fish.
Just seems to me like things were getting a little out of hand on some of the exchanges on the topic of eastney...
I get my share of reasonable fish but just don't feel the need to blag about it.
In retrospect mentioning the trawlers was a bit O T T
