My top three fish to eat would be;

Gurnard,

Spurdog (though I've only had this once)

Bass,

Though I do also like a bit of whiting, though to be honest it's a long time since I've had any fish at all as I stopped fishing for a while and I'm just getting back into it.........

I must be mad :D

Mmmmmm Seafood!!!

Bass ( Steamed )
Dover Sole
Plaice
Macky ( Barbecued )
Couldn't ever leave out Cod

A very tasty fish I had while in Florida - Grouper

But as you can tell from the top, I wouldn't turn my nose up at many edible things from the sea. I must state that I only take what is sufficient for my own consumption.
Mmmmm I'm drooling now!! :)

Summer: fresh mackerel. Ain't anything that beats it!! Bass & bream & greater weever all good but down the queue!

Winter: REALLY fresh herring is incredibly delicious, but on rod & line around here I would vote for a decent sized dab. The tastiest flatfish in the sea if you can catch a sizeable one and far better than turbot in flavour (although they're yummy!)

Hi Folks,

First and foremost, I never take a fish unless I can get at least two meals from it i.e. at least two 6oz + portions.

From all the sea fish that I can catch, number 1 is:
Black Bream - Bass - Gurnard - Cod/Pollock.

Mackerel is also a favourite, but I will only have it fresh for my breakfast if it is caught that morning.

Cheers

Drew
