After mid week discussions Nutsy, Tim and myself decided on a session at langaurd.
Partly because we didn't want to travel to far due to the forecast .and I still needed to catch a dab after our Frinton failure.
Saturday morning 7am found me slopping around in the mud digging a few wums. Was treated to an amazing sunrise that hinted at the weather ahead!
18.30 Tim,Nutsy and me were looking at horizontal rain with a stiff south-westerly in langaurd car park.
Being tough hardy anglers we ran away to the martello park area for a shorter walk and hopefully not get soaked.
By 19.15 we were set up and the sky cleared and the stars came out.
Wind was fresh but the sea state wasn't too bad. No weed about which made life easier.
It was whiting from the start but all very small.
Tim had whiting, dogfish, a dab and a rockling which was a first for him. Well done mate.
Nutsy had 2 thornback (both females)a dab , whiting and a rockling another first.Again Well done mate.
Myself I had whiting, 4 dabs all small and a rockling not a first 😢 All my dabs were on lug tipped with sprat. (cheers Nutsy)
In all a a good evening in great company and with 5 different species in the first week of the new year between us I didn't think we did to bad. We packed up at 1as it had been a long day . Until next time guys .
