Saturday evening was a return trip to the martello park area.
In the 2 weeks since we last fished I had been looking at different catch reports, to see what had been coming out.
After Nutsyfish success with the rays last time I was hoping the cold snap hadn't pushed them out.
And by all accounts they were still about.
18.30 saw Nutsy and me set up and fishing. For me it was a ray or bust with both rods on pulley droppers loaded with squid and bluey. Nutsy had 1rod for rays and the other roving.
First cast Nutsy has a double shot of dabs. And I had what turned out to be a blank saving whiting!
Nutsy had a few more whiting but the ray baits were motionless. Baits coming back untouched.
I did notice from the reports I saw the rays were all caught in daylight hours.
Don't know if that's a factor or just more baits in the water during the day.
Thanks anyway for anyone who posts as the information is well handy.and the main reason I post reports good or bad. And this session was pants!
The sea state was slight no wind to speak of. A little weed but not a problem and very cold.
Nutsy did have 1 good bite and after a spirited fight his codling turned out to be a new pb glove ! Err five bearded gardening I believe 🤣 (sorry buddy)
Fished until midnight then gave up because we both had run out of enthusiasm by then. Great company and banter as always.

My hands are still cold.....

All gear still frozen, and need to clean the double cheese burger up off the steering wheel after a stupid deer ran out infront of us on the a12 making me drop it 😂

Didn't even get that for dinner either...

Great night, great company...

Until the next adventure, tight lines everyone 🎣

Great report as always, glad you found some fish and hopefully you have warmed up by now!

Very impressive glove @Nutsyfish, difficult to fish for and tend to be fussy about bait! Beats my half a marigold by a mile! Tight lines.

Arrrr... the humble marigold, the yting of the glove species lol

Not to mention the worst thing I ever caught in felixstowe off langaurd, the first time I ever fished there.... that was fishy.

Do you remember Steve? I even called it before we started fishing...
