Huss were on the agenda again this weekend but we decided to head West rather than South this time.

After a slow start picking up a few small Pollack on the scratching rods we lost the light and the bigger Dogs came on the feed with all 3 of us landing a number of angry Huss.

I kept the scratcher out picking up a few Rockling over the side.

Temperature dropped right down as the night progressed and the bait stocks started to run thin so the last casts were called.

Top night on the rocks again.

any tips on getting the big huss?

In all honesty I take the simple approach with Hussing, Rough ground, deep water close in, 20 to 30 yard cast with a big smelly bait... Darkness is key though.

My one tip though would be a good quality sharp hook, Huss are a pain for throwing hooks at the edge.
