as mackerel season is nearly hear i was wondering how to fillit a mackerel.
is there any special equipment!!

Good link, I imagine this will be applicable to other fish/baitfish of a similar size... All I have to do now is catch a few!

This forum is really something else for advice and info. If only we had it 15 years ago when I gave up fishing - I'd never have stopped!!

if you look at the fillets there is a small run of bones down the centre - just slice from each side of the run and remove them - then you can cook em
(i'll be using my new £20 smoker from lidl)

Once gutted throw the whole fish on the barbeQ. The meat just falls off. BEAUTIFUL!!!
