went for a couple of hours on a gower rock mark with my two nephews yesterday, my nephews done a bit of spinning and fethering whilst i had a crack on the fly rod. my nephew Doggy Dangler did manage a mackrell that fell off as he lifted up the rock face.
as we were leaving the mark we seen a big seal with a big fish in its mouth, the fish must have been 4lb plus! it looked like a bass or maybe a mullet.
fancied a couple more chucks on the fly as i passed a fishy looking gulley. i could not pass it without having a crack.
first cast in the gulley at range produced this little fellow.
awsome take for a small fish!! that stripped about 15 yards of backing off the reel. had to palm the spool of the fly reel as i thought i was going to run out of backing!! i can see why people use wide arbour reels with plenty of backing on.
cant wait to get out and try again
awsome
tight lines Roamer
