Got a pass to go fishing tomorrow. Will be travelling from London so was thinking of Shoreham West Arm - any clues to how it is fishing at the moment? Is the bait shop open? tips on parking?

Or any other tips on venue would be great. I am not too familiar with the area and have only fished at Brighton Marina on the south coast.

Thanks!!

A good venue.
Re bait doubt if they will have fresh so suggest either Prime Angling in Worthing or Lagoon Bait and Tackle in Hove.
Parking is about 3 quid a day but there are some free spaces on your right just before you get to the car park.
Good luck
Just one thing MAKE SURE YOU GET A TICKET if you have to use the car park, sometimes the machine is still locked up when you get there. If there's more then one of you going wait for it to be opened or you will get a ticket.
Thanks.

I got out there, bit later than I'd hope and I was an hour after high tide.

Got whiting on pretty much every cast, about 30 or so over 4 hours. Greedy gits weren't fussy. Mackerel strip, frozen lug, squid. Tried bigger hooks, bigger baits....but the small whiting were getting it every time.

Funny thing I have found of late. Big whiting nicely lip hooked on small hooks, and small ones swallowing 3/0's deep.......even in baited 4/0's on live bait rigs.......so if you want bigger ones use less bait and smaller hooks lol
