got myself a new 7ft shukan of pat yesterday! had to go out with it almost straight away! conditions weren't the most ideal on the mark we went to but had to have a go anyway!! tried softie's first, no luck but the action of the rod and the feelin was just savage, a joy to fish with!! changed to a tide minnow then, first cast, bang, bass just over 3lb bass. i know its not the biggest fish but it got into the current and i got to see what sort of grunt the rod had, plenty of it! a few casts later got a pristine 2 - 3lb sea trout, gorgeous fish! no more fish but was a great christining for the new rodunk:unk:

What reel did you have on it?

What casting weight is it?

Do you think it would make a good soft plastics rod, or is it mainly a hard lure rod?
