Hi Bill I think the new rod attracts rain not fish....
To be fair the big beach 14 is not that much different from the sk4.
It needs a little more energy to put a bend in it but sends a bait around the same distance.
Today only needed a 75-100 yard cast and I was on the money every time just no fish.....
Although locals recommend a bigger tide for this venue....

I have a load of rag so will try scratching with it tomorrow .....

although that 30 crab I have used on this wenu in less than a week.
My first session the crabs had turned cannibal and were stripping bait quickly today was different.. I am sure if I had taken some scratching rigs I would of had a fair amount of flat fish.
I just think the 2/0 was a little big for them..
