I fancy giving the wreck of the Hood a go this week as the waters in Portland Harbour are perfect this week, never fished it before so any tips or info would be appreciated, cheers.

Just moved to Weymouth and bought a fishing kayak, not ventured out to the hood yet, just been feathering in the harbour! Would be interested to hear how you get on!

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge but wasn't the Hood sunk off the coast of Greenland?

That's a trek.

Maybe I am missing something lol

Edit: Ahh my bad I googled it. I never realised the Hood we all know that was sunk by the Bismarck had a predecessor.

Scuttled to help create a barrier from torpedo attacks at the start of WW1.

There are harbor fees to pay, for any vessel in Portland Harbour, for Kayaks it was £3.50, a Harbour masters rib will collect money, but sometimes not, some areas are out of bounds and a set distance rules from break waters. HMS Hood was scuttled between two ends of breakwaters, last I heard she was banned from divers for entering as she was breaking up and too dangerous, check with the Portland Harbour master.
