I am looking for information about fishing the dollies at torness ie how difficult is it to land fish.
Also what is the best tide to fish, flood or ebb and is there a place to catch fish from other than the dollies.
Hope to hear from some one soon.
you can fish from the lifeboat jetty quite close to the dollies if you dont want to go on the dollies thats where i usually fish never had anything decent tho:fishing1: i would not risk goin on the dollies myself but each to their own:sad2: if you do go do not go near them if they are wet:nono: you will slide off them always go with a partner
They fish 2 hours either side of high. Really hard to land fish and very little room to move when you do catch.I fished them last night got into a few biggies just could'nt get them in . You'd need a boat rod and 50lb line.plenty fish in the 1-2lb bracket but there's a few monsters in there.
THey look pretty scary from a Kayak sitting at the foot of them. I wouldn't risk it myself. Plenty of fish down there but when you catch one you have to take it into the trouble zone of the sunken dollies to get it to you. I agree a boat rod bit do the trick as no casting distance is required. Be careful
