Fitting out a Warrior 165.

G'Day chaps. It's drilly holey time today. GPS and fishfinder screens will be adorning the top of the console - which means I have to find somewhere else for the VHF. I've seen a few pics of them mounted just under the canopy roof - but can't help thinking that's going to be directly in my line of vision (I'm 6ft)???

Has anyone mounted on the right hand inside of the canopy upright or vertically on either side of the console side panels?

I had the same dilema on my Raider and ended up putting the VHF flush-mounted on the left side of the console. Not the best if you actually use your VHF on a regular basis, but for occasional or emergency use, it's fine and out of the way.

Hi,
I got the Cobra F55 mounted in the dash low down when i got my 165, it was bad to see and wanted it protected from water a bit more so i moved mine up above, (more facia board used as a blanking plate!)
I'm only a couple of inches short of 6' and to be honest I've never noticed it in the line of sight at all.

The good news is that I got the navman vhf, garmin 128 gps and eagle cuda fish finder all on the top of the dash. Nearly there!
