Bit of advice please.
When fishing a conger bait hard up to a breakwater or similar, should it be on a fixed lead or a running leger with the drag backed right off.

Hi Terry, I'd use the running ladger with the clutch off or if you use a mulitplier put it into free spool and turn the clicker on....I think if the conger feels any risistance it will let go of your bait...but get ready to strike and then try not to give any line cos if it gets it's tail round anything you will not get it off.
Use at least 60lb line, to give you a chance of landing them.
