Old harbour pretty much guaranteed flounder but very small....may get the odd bigger one but generally palm sized.....close in with maddys or small rag on size 6 hooks.
The trick is not to cast too far,they are 10-30 yrds out from the edge...on the smaller tides fish from the jetty or the beach in front of it,best to fish with very small hooks and very light gear.
Thanks Ticker much appreciated, I'm a big fan of you book Bass Fishing in south East Wales and use most of its principles in my bass fishing. So I'm really looking forward your article, as flounder is a fish that I know very little about let alone how to catch.Good afternoon Richie 123,
I have just completed putting together an ARTICLE titled "The Founder Odyssey" which will be published on my website "Ticker's World" in the next day or so, which will answer most of your questions , including details of an outing to the old harbour with my friend Richy 10 rods. I hope you can be patient because I think this piece will cover most of what you want to know.
Best regards,
Ticker (Derek)
Thanks Ticker.... Exactly what i was looking for. Looks so much fun.Good evening Richy123,
If you click on the link I have provided, this will take you through to the thread titled "Putting The Fun in F-lo-UN dering" which tells the story together with some excellent photographs, of Richard (R10R) and my visit to the Green Light (old harbour), circa November 2013. Link;

nice one buddy stick with me il put u on themHey guys ..normally I just read peoples posts for the info but since I've spent the past few weeks fishing down the old harbour after a mate of mine (breadofheaven) told me about a nice little mark for smaller fish on the light gear, that being said I've had flounder , sole ,rockling and even bass with 3 hook flappers on size 6 to 1/0 hooks..very enjoyable little mark down there.
You will get flattys from the small beach but better to fish from the stone jetty or the sand in front of it.Thanks again bud.... Just checking your talking about the small beach next to where the old outdoor swimming pool used to be?
