hi all
i have just returned home from all night fishing from folkestone pier and i have a intresting thing to tell!!!
i caught a flatfish that looked like a dover soul but it wasnt because this fish was very round and both eyes were on the top of its head.
my friend said it could be a flatfish called magnim or something like it.
it had like diamand patterns on it back and it had a really small tail, if you know what sort of fish this is please tell me because i am very intrested?
thanks beefcake

Hi Beefcake

Well You just had me in stitches the link you refer to is a 'thumb' yes a thumbnail image of a Topknot (Zeugopterus punctatus) the reason the word thumb comes up is that the computer stores the image as ---thumb so it can save space on the web site. Another good reason to beleive it was a Topknot is the fact that they live on rough ground and around piers.

You could just ignore this advice and claim the new British Record! by the way I've never caught a Topknot so thats one up on me back!

Regards and tight lines, Garry
