Has anybody got or fished from a fletcher faro ??.As much as i would be happy with a 17-18ft cuddy fishing boat i also see the fletcher within my budget although i know they are knocking on a bit now i still like the look of them, but do not know what they are like at sea .Living a good 1hr plus drive from the coast something i could rough it on for a night or 2 also apealls to me even though i know i will be losing 50 % deck space.:g:

All the best

Avoid the Faro from a fishing perspective. You'll be far better off with a Shetland 535 or even a Microplus if you fancy an overnighter.
The hulls are far nicer drifting and at anchor, your money will be better there.

Avoid the early Microplus(500,501,etc) that take short shaft engines. They are truly aful-the Shetland 535 is 100 times the boat.

I have a shetland 535 (orig), and i have to say it is a great little boat. I have slept it on it a couple times in reasonable comfort and will comfortably fish 2. You can fish 3 if you get on well or one fishes from the front hatch (may sound silly but works great, less chance of falling in too). The 535 sunstrip still has two berths but there is no toilet or sink compartments in the cabin so you gane some extra deck space, which will be better if you plan to fish with 3 more often than not.

I have only had it a few months but more than happy with my purchase and handled the force 5 swell well a few weeks ago, although was not far out.

In direct comparison, I used to have a Microplus 500.

In f5 it was frightening, the wake used to catch it up coming off the plane and you could tell it amongst any other similar sized boats when anchored because it rocked like it had mental problems even in a f2.
