<font color='#000000'>You could cheat and tie a set of feathers to a float, that is a lazy mans best bet of catching mackerel, not that I would be implying that anyone was lazy. You could try a float rig with a small sliver of mackerel as bait or a sliding float rig. To make one of these you need to be able to tie sliding stops nots with power gum or line.

1: tie a hook to a piece of 15lb line about 2-3ft.
2: to the top of this add a swivel.
3: slide the float onto the mainline and add a bead below it to act as a buffer to prevent line damage.
4: tie a power gum stop knot at the required depth.</font>

<font color='#000000'>In the last post where I first mention float rigs I was on about a bubble float, very easy to use and can be weighted to the correct casting weight.</font>
