we were ment to be heading out to deep water to see the whales and dolphins but there was a hell of a chop and it was really uncomfortable. we stayed in locally and had ballan and cuckoo wrasse, poor cod, coalies, mackerel and pollack, fishing was steady but prity poor. the lack of mackerel must be worrying. we had about a dozen for the day in singles. looks like the comercial b bags have wiped out that area:hammer:

Seal was in the harbour last summer - and we caught loads of macks from the pier - I was catching and the kids were dropping right into the seal's gob - taking them from the hand! We had a good boat session in late July and caught loads of macs

This year however seems to be another story

 Aye another case of the commercials stripping fish stocks. No doubt most of the mackerel are fish meal by now.

was out at loch fyne sunday the place was dead calm in the morning, and crystal clear, we were trying to catch mackeral for bait but managed just a couple in as many hours even though we could see thousands below the boat, and i mean thousands, but no matter what feather or lure we put in front of them they were not interested.
